PLA Ingeo™ : is a range of biopolymers derived from corn starch. It is fully biodegradable and compostable according to EN13432. Ingeo™ is developed and manufactured by NatureWorks. The amorphous polymer has a softening temperature of 50°C and it is transparent. Ingeo™ is commonly used for thermoforming, to manufacture cups and trays, with mechanical properties similar to polystyrene but suitable only for cold drinks and foods. t° max 45°C.

CPLA : is the acronym for Crystallized PolyLactic Acid. Crystallization is the process that makes PLA more high-temperature-resistant, up to 85°C. As it derives from P.L.A. biopolymer, it is biodegradable and compostable according to EN13432. Once crystallized, CPLA loses its original transparency turning white. It is mostly used for the production of cup lids for hot beverages. t° max 85°C.

Cellulose pulp is obtained from the leftovers of fast-growing plants processing, especially sugar cane, bamboo and straw. Therefore, it is entirely made of natural materials and is completely biodegradable and compostable according to EN13432. The color is white. It is microwave and conventional oven safe. Commonly used to manufacture plates, food containers, and certain cups. t° max 100°C.

Mater-Bi® is a range of biopolymers derived from vegetable starch. It is fully biodegradable and compostable according to EN13432. Mater-Bi® is developed and manufactured by Novamont. The softening temperature is around 80°C and the color is white. Mater-Bi® is mostly used to manufacture cutlery or as a coating on cardboard to make cups and plates. Mater-Bi® can also be shaped into film for the manufacture of bags and packaging for Ecozema® cutlery kits. t° max 80°C.

Cardboard + Mater-Bi® it is a type of cardboard coming from Responsibly Managed Forests. It is used for cups. Their inside is coated with Mater-Bi® which makes the cups liquid-resistant and suitable for food contact. t° max 95°C.
